iEdge can distribute a variety of map services from different sources and support the direct caching for the published map services. For those map services that do not generate caches in advance, you can generate map tiles of different formats through the iEdge pre-caching tool.
iEdge pre-caching tool uses the dynamic map output function of the map service of the agented iServer, so the basic principles and concept of the map cache is consistent with iServer. About the details of the cache, please see: Cache Mechanism.
Pre-cache
iEdge cache tool is called Precache, and the steps are almost the same with the distributed tiling service offered by iServer, which just has small differences. The steps are:
- Add distributed cache library (Optional)
- Create precache task
- Configure cache version (Optional)
- View the task list
- Monitor the caching progress
