Official License
The official license includes the license file and hardware key. The hardware key contains stand-alone key and network key.
- The license file can be got both by offline and online application. After it is configured to the computer, it can work. The license file contains stand-alone license file and network license file. If you activate the stand-alone license file, you can only provide the license service for the local machine. If you activate the network license file, you can provide the license service for the computers within the current network. Note, after the network license file is configured on the license server, it can't be transferred.
- The hardware key is an official license as type of a hardware encryption lock (referred to as "hardware lock"). It contains two types:
- The stand-alone key, which has only one license installed on one same computer with the relevant SuperMap product. The stand-alone key is green.
- The Network key can be installed on any computer in the network, which can provide multiple licenses, and the computer which is installed a network key is called the license server. The license client computer within the network and license range can use the network key even through it doesn't install the license driver. The network key is red.
Notice:
- When the hardware key is inserted into the computer, the signal on the key lights up indicating that the hardware key is valid.
- The key is identified as a USB to run directly in Windows.
- The key can be identified when the Linux computer is installed a license driver. For the stand-alone key, the computer to insert the key needs to install a license driver; for the network key, the license server should be installed a license driver.
- If there are two kinds of licenses-license file and key, the key will be used.
- If the hardware key is used in the virtual machine, it's needed to connect the hardware key to the VM by relevant settings.
Note: you only need the SuperMap iEdge license to run SuperMap iEdge.
